A truly wonderful woman with a heart of gold and a wicked smile and sense of humour. Sleep well dearest Jennie! Author: Pauline Bailey A truly lovely lady. Always had a tale (or two) to tell, always smiling and will be sadly missed by many. Rest in Peace. Author: PC Steven Deats A lovely lady and many a happy moment spent in her company; she will indeed be sadly missed. Author: Katherine Anthony I often worked with Jennie during the 80's and 90's when I was an area car driver and latterly in the Control Room where I now work as a civilian operator. Jennie was always happy and smiling which inevitably became infectious, having many a laugh with various 'jobs'. She also had a wealth of experience in 'outside' life which was always useful. She will certainly be missed by many people. Sleep tight Jennie Author: Graham Elliott I will miss our chats in the yard, and her mischievous sense of humour. She will be sadly missed Author: Heidi Eldred RIP Author: Shade Idris So sad to hear about dear Jennie. She always came on duty in the control room for Friday late turn. Always pleased to see us and a valuable member of staff, will be sadly missed. Author: PC Norma Limond I was saddened to hear of Superintendent Jennie Harvey's death. Her zest for life was infectious, it was always a pleasure to see her and chat around the stations. Jennie was a real inspiration to me personally. Her dedication and self-sacrifice was second to none. Jennie will be sadly missed. Author: PCSO Jon-Jay Needham Jennie brought a smile and comfort to the hardest of times, especially when I lost my own mother in 2001. I have personally known her since 1989 and was a welcome guest of hers at numerous events she was involved in over those years, where she was always the life and soul of the party. My heartfelt sympathy and deep sorrow go to her family at this the most hardest of times. I would also like to pass on the condolences of Jane Clayton who worked with Jennie in the control room for many years. Jennie and Jane were dear friends. God bless you Jennie, you are already missed. Author: PC Lee Kennedy Whenever I saw Jennie I was always greeted with a smile and a hello. Jennie had a bubbly personality and would always stop and have a chat. My condolences go out to Jennie's family. Today is a sad day for everyone who came into contact with her and she will be sorely missed. Author: Luciano Cini I was honoured to know Jennie as a fellow Special, friend and colleague. She was in my eyes the epitome of what a Special should be, and was an inspiration. She had devoted many, many, years of loyal service to the Force / public, always putting others before herself. I read this tribute and found it to be very fitting to the great lady that she was. She will be greatly missed, but will be remembered for all that she did and achieved, her support and friendship to others and the outstanding service she gave to the Force. Rest in peace, dear friend Author: PC Darren Brockwell A true professional who will be very much missed by all those that knew her Author: Bob Fidgeon A wonderful person and a real spark of life Author: Richard Morkill This was a very moving and sincere service that was also attended by many of Jenny’s colleagues from the Control Room with whom she recently worked. On a personal note I realised that Jenny has been with the City of London Special Constabulary for over 29yrs and it has been my privilege to know her from my time as a probationer at Bishopsgate through to working with her in the Control Room. Jenny was a very loyal and forthright supporter of all aspects of the City of London Police and Special Constabulary and will be greatly missed. Author: Inspector Stephen Phillips Rest in peace Jennie, you will be missed xxx Author: PC Wendy Hall God Bless Sweetheart! Author: Maggie FitzGerald It was a privilege to know Jennie in life and an honour to be able to say a final farewell to her at this very moving ceremony which rightly celebrated her life and achievements both within and outside the CoLP family, of which she was such a respected and cherished member. Given that Jennie played such an important role in the annual Force Awards and that, tragically, she passed away on the very morning of this year's awards dinner I wonder if, looking ahead to next year, we can rename the Special Constable of the Year award the Jennie Harvey Memorial award? I can't think of a more fitting way of honouring her memory than to remember her when rewarding her successors. Author: John Harkett
